Do you believe in luck?

I believe in inner strength and the power of positive thinking.

I also believe in everything happening for a reason.

Pots of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Lucky rabbits, of which this is, my husband surprised me with her on Valentines, from www.thevintagemagpie.typepad.com. I will never think of him as unromantic again. I had wanted one for so long.

Tonight I am using all of the above.

Learning to Crochet

Early this year I discovered Lucy at attic24 she inspired me to learn to crochet.
This was quite a challenge as my mum and gran had taught me so many homemaking skills but neither new how to crochet.

Then I remembered a lady on our campsite in Cornwall had crocheted my youngest daughter a blanket for her dolly.
Like a lot of children she would love to take her doll out for a walk in her pushchair naked, the lovely lady had been horrified and the next day had produced a beautiful pink blanket.

So the next time we were down at our fabulous retreat( i will show you pics soon)
I bravely knocked on her door and asked her to show me the basics.
These pic are some of my early projects.

The Perfect Blue Dish

I think you will agree our treasures look fabulous. The dish was a wedding present and sadly has a few small chips on the rim. As it is almost 13 years old I dont think it is doing too bad!

Little daughter enjoyed colour sorting and size comparing the treasures before they went to their new home. I love it when my children can spend long lenghts of time exploring playing and learning without a toy or TV in sight, good old fashion FUN.

I think i am slowly getting the hang of this, must get used to carrying my camera around with me.

Treasure at Teignmouth

We are lucky to live just a short drive from the sea and our nearest beach is Teignmouth. Today the sea was very loud and dramatic which I love.

While Briar ran around chasing her ball and the odd seagull the girls and I couldn't resist looking for treasure on the beach. These softened pieces of glass are so beautiful who can stop themselves when they have a perfect blue dish for them to sit in at home.

Meet Briar

Briar is the Baby in our house and just like a baby she is growing up fast we have had her for a whole year already. Anyone who has done the Puppy thing will know that it is incredibly hard but she has enriched our lives so much it has all been well worth it. Just like us she loves the beach and will spend hours in the sea until she resembles a shivering toddler and we have to say enough. Being a Springer Spaniel she doesn't really no when to stop herself!
Well here goes I've done it, well started :0
I must admit that it is a bit scary venturing into blogland
I have met some inspirational people in blogland.
So to them thank you.
